Even though Michael has been with Royal Food Products for 28 years, his history with the facility extends to his childhood.
"I grew up just across the street from here when Royal used to be the milk dairy," he said. "We use to come over here to get milk for our family."
On hot summer afternoons, Michael and his friends would stop by the plant after playing baseball. The workers gave the boys water.
Later on, he decided to try working at Royal. By that time it had become a kind of family tradition, with an uncle and cousin who also worked there. In Royal, Michael found a great work environment.
"This is a fun place to work. There's always something to keep your mind occupied. You have to watch and make sure everything is working right."
